Picture_1As most of you are probably already aware, this website certainly has its slow days.  This is not because of the website itself, which was designed by some kind of a friggin' genius, but the server on which it is hosted.  So, I am getting sick and tired and waiting for the site to load and in this day and age, waiting even 5 seconds is painful.  Within the next week, I am going to switch over to Linux grid-host that dramatically increase speed by, in short, allowing the site to host from multiple servers simultaneously (if one is slow, it pulls from another).

The Window Cleaning Redemption PDF Print E-mail

Adventure Window Cleaning spent their Sunday going over the windows for a second time and touching up areas that both of us were not satisfied with.  I was very pleased with their response to our initial dissatisfaction.  At this point, it appears everything is clean and acceptable, though I still have a couple of units to check up on.  Moving forward, exterior window cleaning shouldn't be such a hassle now that the deep REDEMPTIONstains and oxidation has been removed almost entirely.  These guys had their hands full!  They tried three different products to remove the crud, and ultimately had to turn to acid-based weapons-grade cleaner.  It is very important to recognize that a lot of the appearances of "dirty windows" within our building are in fact interior stains.  Interior cleaning, of course, is the responsibility of the home owner.  I know that my windows and my sister's windows have heavy oxidation on the inside -- and the company proved this to us when they offered to clean an interior pane.

Adventure Window Cleaning would be more than happy to offer you a personal quote for interior window cleaning.  Personally, I know I will use them, and I am sure my sister will to, because I know that removing the oxidation will be a major pain in the behind.  If you are interested, call (734) 416-9062 and ask for Matt.

Window Cleaning Fail PDF Print E-mail

Residents be advised - the state of your exterior windows is not final!  I have been in contact with the cleaners and they are cooperating so far.  Here is an email I sent to the president of the window cleaning company today (UPDATE: added their response at the end of this post):

Hi Matt,

I am sure you have probably already heard from Doug, but it appears the first attempt at cleaning the windows was not successful.  I have been in contact with Doug, he has been very helpful, and has assured me that he will not be done until I am satisfied.   I just wanted to make sure that I keep you in the loop.

I have been contacted by several residents that claim their windows look no different at all.  I met Doug on site today and confirmed these concerns.  Personally, my windows are an absolute disaster (I have attached 3 pictures from what I saw when I woke up today).

Honestly, I was very disappointed when I woke up to this.  I felt not only that I had been screwed, but more importantly that I had let down my fellow residents by convincing them to spend almost double the money to have the windows cleaned to the specifications that you so energetically promised to provide.

In my few meetings with you and Doug, I know that you are great people that take your company's name seriously and will see to it that we are taken care of.  I appreciate your company's cooperation so far in this matter and expect us to be have spotless windows before any form of payment is considered.

Thanks,
Brett Lyon
